What are you Tolerating, and Why?
Is it just me, or are you feeling scared, angry, annoyed, worried, sad, and stuck?
If your answer to any of the above is “yes” – congratulations, you are definitely human! We humans are living in some very challenging times. As humans, we’re hardwired to react to fear in one of three biological ways:
• Fight – stand your ground
• Flight – get the hell out of here
• Freeze – turn into a marble statue
More to the point, none of these approaches does a damn thing to make us any happier or more productive.
So what can we to do to shift our energy towards creating what we want, and simultaneously say goodbye to all that no longer serves us? The 1st step is to identify several areas in your life that are beyond your toleration. Step 2 is to get really clear on why this toleration is still present. Ask yourself, “Is this Toleration serving me in any way?” If the answer is no, you may want to consider journaling about it, or perhaps making time for a guided meditation.
Another approach is to keep a “Tolerations List” handy, perhaps one in your office, and maybe another one in your bedroom (you never know when your “Toleration” will make its’ presence known, and writing down the “Toleration” while you are experiencing it will make the experience even more resonant).
